William Louey Lai Kuen is a Hong Kong businessman and the fourth-generation heir of the Kowloon Motor Bus Company, the city’s oldest and largest public transport operator. Guided by the “pay it forward” philosophy, he has a lifelong passion for philanthropy.
In 1995, he founded the William S.D. Louey Educational Foundation, named after his late grandfather, to help academically gifted children from disadvantaged backgrounds study abroad. To date, he has donated over HKD $60 million to support 60 scholars, while providing mentorship beyond funding.
